Job Summary:
The Performing Arts Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing comprehensive athletic training services to performing artists, ensuring their physical well-being and optimal performance. This role focuses on preventing, assessing, managing, and rehabilitating injuries related to performing arts, such as dance, theatre, and music. The Performing Arts Athletic Trainer collaborates with other healthcare professionals and coaches to develop and implement injury prevention programs and provide education on safe practices.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of performing artists' physical conditions, including musculoskeletal and biomechanical evaluations.
2. Develop and implement individualized injury prevention programs to minimize the risk of injuries during rehearsals, performances, and training sessions.
3. Provide immediate on-site medical care for performing artists in the event of an injury or medical emergency.
4. Design and implement rehabilitation programs for performing artists recovering from injuries, ensuring safe and timely return to performance.
5. Collaborate with coaches, instructors, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement conditioning programs specific to the demands of performing arts.
6. Provide guidance and education to performing artists on proper warm-up exercises, stretching techniques, and injury prevention strategies.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, injury reports, treatment plans, progress notes, and documentation of all services provided.
8. Stay abreast of current research, trends, and best practices in performing arts medicine and athletic training, and incorporate this knowledge into practice.
9. Participate in the development and implementation of emergency action plans and protocols for performing arts events and venues.
10. Assist in the procurement and maintenance of athletic training supplies and equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification from the Board of Certification (BOC).
3. State licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Athletic Trainer.
4. Minimum of 2 years of experience in athletic training, preferably in a performing arts setting.
5. Strong knowledge of performing arts-specific injuries, assessment techniques, and rehabilitation protocols.
6. Proficiency in evaluating biomechanics and movement patterns related to performing arts.
7. Ability to assess, manage, and provide immediate care for acute injuries and medical emergencies.
